Booties!

Bootie house slippers are AWESOME! They are soft, warm and probably my favorite pair of shoes! Come on, there is a whole day just for booties, National Bootie Day (NBD)! Okay, not really just one day, there are three days of the year that can be considered NBD: Sept. 4th, Oct. 15th, and Nov. 10th.

It has been a while since I have had a pair that fits me so I was really (really, really, really....) wanted a pair, but mom only said maybe. Maybe usually means "no" but I will tell you about the day anyway.

It was a normal and boring day when my family was grocery shopping at the usual stores, We go to a lot of stores to get the best deals (Aldi, Price Chopper, Costco, ya get the point). But grocery shopping day, today wasn't as mundane as the others, because in the Costco ad I saw a pair of booties. I asked mom if I could get a pair and she said, "maybe." So I was on my best behavior, in hopes that I would for sure get my pair of booties. After visiting a few stores, we finally got to Costco, a wonderful place filled with free samples, discounted books and the BOOTIES!!!!!!!!! (Okay, I like booties a little too much but I mean who doesn't?) So we walked around the store until we found the shoe aisle where mom and I tried on the house shoes. I slipped the first one on; AHHH, it felt like heaven! Then the second, heaven again! Right when I started thinking this was going to be the best grocery shopping day of my life, BANG. The horrible news train came through, whoo, whoo!  "I'm sorry Olivia I don't think we can get these."  "What?!?!" I wanted to say but I let it be. I did kind of pout and go the rest of the afternoon with a frown on my face. ):  I was feeling pretty low so when we finally got home, I went to my room to think. It is okay to be disappointed, but it isn't okay to pout, my attitude was ungrateful.  Suddenly, I heard a soft knock on the door "come in" I said.  My Mom came in to talk to me but before she could say anything I saw she was wearing my new pair of booties. I tugged them of of my mom's feet and squeezed her.  She had bought them as a Christmas gift, but seeing how disappointed I was she decided to let me have them early,  Best Mom Ever!!!

It was silly of me to mope about a pair of shoes when I have so much to be thankful for.  Like having these warm booties or even enough socks. Did you know that the number one request for homeless shelters is socks?  Here is a little video explaining why: BEE BETTER. I Love it when others help each other and make something great, by helping homeless people.

Did you know that 1 out of 45 children in the U.S. alone are homeless? I can't imagine having to go to bed on the street for possibly weeks, months or maybe years! Or having to skip meals because not having enough money. I used to think that I could help people like this, but I didn't know how! Luckily my mom stepped in and I found a bunch of things that I can do to help. If you would like to help, here are some very simple, easy ways you can:

- You can donate food to a homeless shelter.

-Volunteer at a food pantry.

-Give clothes (socks, jackets, etc.)

-Or just participate in your local food or toy drives.

Fun at the Farm

This week I went to my Great-grandparents farm. It is so cool it has treasures from the early 1900s to the early 2000s! (Cool, right?!)

Not only do they have junk from who knows when, they have animals too. Though the fearful chickens

and snot drooling cows may not get you to want to go there, but they have one super photogenic and impossibly  adorabe cat (have you ever heard that from a dog person?)!

The point is that some things aren't as cool as they were "back in the day" but now that I've seen some of it in person I think it is way cooler than seeing pictures of it on social media or in a text book. If you can't see something at a grandparents house or great-uncle or aunt's you can see at least see something at a  museum, it may be cooler than it seems right now.

Check out some of the cool thing I saw on an old farm:

Friday, November 4, 2016

Hello! Sorry I haven’t been able to post a lot lately.  I haven’t had internet in a while so I couldn’t post anything. Yeah I know it sucks.(😠!!!)

Since I have had this delay with my life I am behind on everything on social media, and the most devastating… Animal Jam! (Dun, Dun, Dun!)

Because I wasn’t able to explore my Animal Jam account, when I came back to it when I finally had internet, POOF, it was gone! Since I had not been on my account for who knows how long National Geographic will automatically delete your server. Oh, and if you're a kid like me and your parents won’t let you get an account what I would tell them that this was made by National Geographic and is educational (but don’t worry it’s not like you’ll be doing math drills every 25 seconds).

If you would like to set up an Animal Jam account, first of all here’s the link: Create Account - Animal Jam! You pretty much just follow the instructions the crazy woman gives you. Once you get it done you can comment your username and everyone who does has a guarantee that they will get a buddy request from me.

Anywho I have to get going so bye and my next post will be sent soon  (hopefully), because I have the world wide web now. Next, Animal Jam

Jelly Beans!

Very cherry, berry blue, chocolate pudding, ...

                                 JELLY BEANS!!!!

The "Jelly Belly" factory is a great place to go. My favorite thing about it is the free candy. There is a train that will take you around the factory on a video tour, showing the process of how Jelly Bellies are made.  Did you know the process of making Jelly Bellies can take 7-21 days?

On the tour we learned that President Ronald Reagan loved Jelly Beans.  He loved jelly beans a lot! I'm not kidding he started almost all of his meetings by passing around the jar of Jelly Bellies. Ronald Reagan also had special compartments for his jelly beans on air force one, so they wouldn't spill all over the place. (Ronald Reagan's favorite jelly bean flavor was licorice.)

They have mosaic art made of the jelly beans that are pictures of famous people and animals. The first mosaic made was of President Ronald Reagan, but the most popular mosaic portrat is of Elvis Presley. At the end of your tour you get one pack of jelly beans, or more if you give a tip your tour guide. Then you enter a gift shop where you can buy trinkets and jelly beans.  They also feature a sample bar, where you can try all the flavors.  Free tours are daily, but not on a few holidays at 10100 Jelly Belly Ln. Pleasant prairie WI.

I LOVE Ps

I like pizza
I like puppies.
I like pop (soda)
I like P.J.s and so much more.
My favorite is PRAYER because it's talking to God.

PRAY
Here are some steps on how to pray.

PRAISE

Thank God for who He is what He has done in your life.

REPENT

Ask God to forgive your sins. Then make better choices.

ASK

Ask God to provide what you need: for safety, for health, for friends and for family.

YIELD

Take a moment to listen to God, and do His will.

That is a way to pray.

Cheek Pinchers

Sometimes when I go to grown up parties and I am one of the youngest ones there, I feel like if I am not careful they will start pinching my cheeks.  They might say things like, "she is so adorable," even though  am not a little kid any more.  Seriously this is like a nightmare for me!  I am glad that it doesn't happen in real life.
